Residence

The HA Whitney House was built in 1868 by the Henry A. Whitney Family. Their family played a key role in the Columbus canning factory. It was the most productive in the world until the advent of rapid freezing vegetables. The canning factory buildings now serve as Columbus Antique Mall, which is Wisconsin’s largest.

The house is approximately 6,019 square feet. The residence is 2,742 square feet. The house was originally built in the Italianate style. It was later changed to Victorian style. That’s when the curved porch was added. In 1996, the studio overhang and the back porch were upgraded to match the architecture of the front porch.

The entry of the home features a beautiful high ceiling. It includes a curved staircase and curved inside doors that lead into the fully updated residence. This residence features high ceilings, hardwood floors, a marble fireplace, radiant heat, and modern wiring.

The recently added family recreational room (28.5 x 18.5, with 12′ ceilings, 527 sq. ft.) With a video projector, speakers, cable TV, computer connections, and adjustable lighting. Adjoining this is a large natural light atrium (330 sq. ft.) with a 9′ high waterfall.
